Outfield, High End Spend

Justin Upton, $4,200

.000/.000/.0000 with 0 HR in 5 at-bats

While players like Mike Trout and Mookie Betts are basically in play every single night, Upton stands out at a significant discount to those players. Not only is Upton a career lefty killer with a .380 wOBA and a .893 OPS, he’s in the top 30 in the majors against the fastball this season and was in the top 50 last year. He gets a lefty tonight in Eduardo Rodriguez that throws his fastball 66 percent of the time in his career. That’s not a good matchup for Rodriguez and Upton definitely has a chance to put a ball in the seats tonight.

Also Consider – Gregory Polanco, $4,200 and Andrew Benintendi, $4,100

Mid-Range

A.J. Pollock, $3,200

.500/.500/.750 with 0 HR in 4 at-bats

The outfielder for the Diamondbacks was pretty quiet last night but that’s not going to stop me this evening. Just like his teammate Paul Goldschmidt, Pollock just mashes lefties when he plays in Chase Field. His career numbers aren’t that much worse than Goldy’s, with a .315 average, .951 OPS, and a .401 wOBA. His price tag is far too low, especially for a condensed slate. Just like Goldy, I really can’t imagine not having Pollock in basically every single lineup that I make tonight. The spot is just too good to pass up even with Blach being a really good groundball pitcher.

Also Consider – Lorenzo Cain, $3,200, Ryan Braun, $3,100(if he plays) and Preston Tucker, $3,100

Value

Hernan Perez, $2,200

.333/.333/.333 with 0 HR in 3 at-bats

The Brewers righty paid off handsomely the last time we played him with a two-run homer and over 20 FanDuel points. He could be in the same type of spot tonight as he gets a very hittable lefty. His average, OPS and wOBA don’t look very good against lefties so far this season. However, he’s making hard contact at a very high rate and hitting a ton of fly balls. Those factors are eventually going to lead to better results and he’s a great source of salary relief tonight. Even though I think Peters does have a chance to be good this evening, a Brewers stack could be in the making as well.

Also Consider – Adam Frazier, $2,100 and Chris Young, $2,600
