New York Jets full schedule leaked
The New York Jets have seen their entire season schedule leaked to Twitter before it has been officially announced, here are some key takeaways.
Jets fans are hoping that drafting a quarterback with the third-overall pick in the draft will help rejuvenate their offense and take them back to the postseason. Well, after seeing this schedule I don’t know how long those hopes can stay.
The theory was that a talented, young defense would be able to hold opposing teams off the board enough for an average offense to help take the lead. It’s not going to happen terribly often this year, looking at the schedule below, there are too many good teams they have to play.
The first thing you notice is ending the season with the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots. This says that if the Jets have to win their last few games to make the playoffs, it won’t be easy. The Jets would have to hope the Patriots will have clinched the top seed and won’t want to play Week 17.
Simply put, the placement of the Patriots games is sub-optimal. While playing the Patriots off of a bye seems good because of more time to prepare, there can be no rust against the reigning AFC champions. So, having both games against them in the second half of the season is rough.

Most importantly, there are a lot of good quarterbacks to play this year. Matthew Stafford, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Kirk Cousins are just a few. Without a doubt, this will test the Jets defense’s ability to get stops, and offenses ability to counter. Judging by the schedule, the Jets are going to have to win in a variety of ways.
Teams with these quarterbacks will throw the ball often, the Jaguars will play lockdown defense, and the Bills will try to run the ball down their throat. Ultimately, the Jets will face an uphill battle to get to the playoffs fighting this schedule.
