The Tampa Bay Lightning host the New Jersey Devils in Game 5 of their first-round series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are one win away from advancing to the second round, while the New Jersey Devils need to win to extend their season. Tampa host New Jersey in Game 5 of the series Saturday afternoon at the Amelie Arena.

Andrei Vasilevskiy has been excellent in net for Tampa Bay. The Russian goalie has stopped 133 of 142 shots in the series. Offensively, Nikita Kucherov has had an incredible start to the playoffs, recording nine points in four games. Alex Kilhorn scored only 15 goals in the regular season but already has four goals in the playoffs. However, if the Lightning are going to make a deep playoff run they will need Victor Hedman to have a greater impact offensively. Hedman is one of the finalists for the Norris Trophy after he recorded 63 points in the regular season. However, Hedman has yet to record a point in the playoffs.

Cory Schneider stopped 34 of 36 shots in Game 4 but it wasn’t enough for the Devils to win. Schneider has played very well in the two games he has started and will to have another great game if New Jersey is going to steal Game 5. Sami Vatanen suffered a head injury in Game 4 and could miss Game 5. If Vatanen is unable to play, New Jersey’s defense would be significantly weakened. Taylor Hall has been incredible in the series, recording six points. However, the Devils have struggled to generate secondary scoring. Nico Hischier was second on the Devils in scoring during the regular season. However, the first overall pick has struggled in the playoffs. Hischier has one goal but is a -4 in the series.
