Don Draper

There have been a lot of terrible fathers on this list. But Don Draper may take the cake. He’s never there for his children, he’s a womanizer, and he’s a drunk. None of those are qualities you’re looking for in a potential MLB manager. Well, maybe someone who enjoys a nice drink or 20.

Despite being a terrible manager, Draper has perfect MLB manager qualities.

He’s creative and he’s a motivator. Who was Peggy Olson before Draper pushed her up the ladder? She was his secretary. Look how he pushed her to new heights. Was he the nicest person ever? No. He was a dick. But would Peggy be copy chief without Don? Of course not. She’d be fetching coffee for Pete Campbell.

When the chips are down, Draper delivers. You may not like him as a person, but the man gets results. And he gets results because he’s not afraid to ignore everyone around him, including his children.

Best Fit: Pittsburgh Pirates

Pittsburgh has a history of winning. The Steelers are a playoff team every year. The Penguins win the Stanley Cup every year. Their NBA team is so good they don’t exist. But then there are the Pirates. The lowly Pirates.

They need someone who can push them to be their best. They have the talent. They’re even doing pretty well this season. Imagine if Draper was at the helm. This strong start would be a strong season. They’d be an unquestionable playoff team and like win a playoff series.

Pittsburgh loves their blue-collar workers. One of his suits has a blue collar.
