The Golden State Warriors have a chance to sweep away the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 on Sunday.

The Golden State Warriors may not have Stephen Curry, but the defending champions are still making quick work of the San Antonio Spurs and have a chance to finish off a sweep in Game 4 on Sunday afternoon. The fact that the Spurs are also missing a superstar in Kawhi Leonard is aiding this cause, but the Warriors have looked mighty impressive regardless.

Golden State won the first three games in the series by a combined 49 points, with all three victories coming by double digits. The Warriors’ offense has exploded to the tune of 118 points per 100 possessions, the best mark so far in the playoffs. Their 97.8 defensive rating is third.

Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson have provided the bulk of the scoring. Durant leads the Warriors in playoff scoring at 27.3 points per game, but Thompson is nipping at his heels at 25.7 points per game. And while Durant is shooting an impressive 52.8 percent from the field, Thompson is scorching the nets at 63.3 percent overall and 65 percent from 3.

Thompson has drilled 13 3-pointers alone in this series, while the Spurs have made only 20 as a team while shooting a woeful 24.1 percent. San Antonio’s offense doesn’t have nearly enough firepower with Leonard sidelined to score effectively against a Warriors defense that has locked back in after cruising through much of the regular season.

Gregg Popovich will not return for Game 4 after missing the Spurs’ 110-97 Game 3 loss due to the death of his wife, Erin. Assistant coach Ettore Messina will once again man the sidelines with Popovich away from the team.

One other significant thing to watch for is the status of Durant’s left ankle after he twisted it late in Game 3. While he’s expected to be fine for Game 4, it’s a situation worth monitoring.

The Warriors are simply the far better team in this series. Perhaps they take it easy in Game 4 and the Spurs steal a win, but Golden State surely wants to get this series over with so it can rest up a bit before Round 2.
