Blue Jackets vs. Capitals live stream, Game 6: TV schedule, online and more
By Adam Stocker
The Columbus Blue Jackets host the Washington Capitals in Game 6 of their first-round series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.
After losing the first two games of the series in overtime, the Washington Capitals have won three straight games. The Capitals won Game 5 in overtime and can advance to the second round with a win Monday night in Columbus.
Braden Holtby had another strong game in net, stopping 39 of 42 shots in Game 5 to help Washington take a 3-2 lead in the series. Nicklas Backstrom had his best game of the series, scoring twice including the overtime winner. Backstrom has eight points in the series. Washington has been incredible on the power play in the series. The Capitals have converted 33.3 percent of their man advantages. John Carlson has been lethal quarterbacking the power play. Carlson has nine points in the series, with one goal and seven assists on the man advantage.
The Blue Jackets need to win Game 6 or their season is over. For Columbus to win, they will need a better game out of Sergei Bobrovsky. The Russian goalie has a .885 save percentage over the last two games. The two-time Vezina Trophy winner has to play significantly better if they are going to win. Artemi Panarin picked up seven points in the first three games of the series but has been shut out of the last two games. Panarin is far from the only Columbus player struggling lately. Thomas Vanek, Cam Atkinson and Pierre-Luc Dubois have all failed to find the score sheet the last two games. If the Blue Jackets best offensive players don’t produce in Game 6, they will not be going back to Washington for Game 7.
