Philadelphia Phillies: Trade for Wilson Ramos

For a team ready to run their new manager out of the City of Brotherly Love earlier in the season,Ā  the Philadelphia Phillies seem to have righted the ship. It would appear that every team in Philly is ā€œtrusting the process,ā€ and they may have enough talent to win right now.

The addition of Jake Arrieta was huge, and he has pitched like a $75 million man. The Phillies have the talent on this roster to make a run at the Wild Card, and could use a veteran presence behind the plate.

Enter Wilson Ramos, who is currently playing for the lowly Tampa Bay Rays. Ramos has a history of being a clutch hitter in this league, and he could be a guy who can inject a lot of experience into this catching group in Philadelphia.

Every good pitcher loves a catcher who can call a good game, and Ramos has caught some of the best during his career. He also carries with him a pretty respectable bat, and the Rays would to love some of the prospects the Phillies have in their system.

Winning 12 of their first 19 games has turned this Phillies team into one with the second-best record in the NL East, which could have at least two teams make the playoffs this season.
