Houston Astros: Trade for Francisco Cervelli

Last year, the Houston Astros were the kings of baseball, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. To start the 2018 season, they have picked up right where they left off, and many believe they are the best team in baseball.

The roster is pretty much stocked from top to bottom, as they have a nice blend of speed and power in their lineup. They also have a rotation full of aces, including Justin Verlander, who has seen his career take off once again since coming to Houston.

One area they could stand to get better is behind the plate, where Brian McCann currently gets the bulk of the duty. McCann can be solid in spots, but bringing in a guy like Francisco Cervelli could make the unit even better.

Cervelli has been a solid player during his time in Pittsburgh, and really knows how to work with a pitching staff. He also hits from the right side, so getting him would give the Astros a nice righty-lefty platoon between him and McCann.

The Astros are going to be in this thing at the end, so it is never too early to start thinking about matchups that will eventually win your division and beyond.
