Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: Trade for Jose Urena

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have been better than expected this season, and are getting some big production from new arrival Shohei Ohtani, who really struggled in Spring Training. Ohtani is currently dealing with a blister, but when he is healthy, he is quite the attraction.

As they head into May, they have to be thinking they can make some noise in the AL West. If they are to make a run towards the playoffs, they have to get some more arms into this rotation. Ohtani has proven to be a solid pitcher, but it will be interesting to see how long he can succeed both on the mound, and at the plate.

One pitcher who could probably use a change of scenery is Jose Urena, who was the Opening Day starter for the Miami Marlins. Urena has the stuff to be very good at the Major League level, but he is never going to reach his potential playing in South Beach.

With the Angeles, he would join a rotation that features Ohtani, Garrett Richards, and Andrew Heaney to name a few, so he would be near the top. Urena is only 23, and he won 14 games last season, so it could take some top prospects to get him.

The Angels are 14-7 through the first 21 games, but they have the Astros in their division, so bolstering this rotation has got to be a priority.
