After failing to pull off a sweep, the Golden State Warriors head back home for Game 5 to try to finish off the San Antonio Spurs.

Apparently the Golden State Warriors were feeling rather gentlemanly on Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors had a chance to sweep away the San Antonio Spurs, but the defending champs turned in a Game 4 dud and will now return home to try to finish off the Spurs in Tuesday’s Game 5.

Golden State had dominated the series prior to Sunday’s 103-90 loss, winning the first three games by double figures. But the Warriors’ offense took the afternoon off for Game 4 by shooting just 37.8 percent overall and 25 percent on 3-pointers.

Kevin Durant scored a game-high 34 points but took 28 shots to get there. After shooting over 63 percent in the first three games, Klay Thompson made only four of his 16 field goal attempts. Draymond Green shot 4 of 14 and Andre Iguodala didn’t make a single field goal.

Despite the struggles and an early 17-point deficit, Golden State cut the margin to two with just under six minutes to play. It looked like the Warriors could just turn it on late and overwhelm the overmatched Spurs to finish the series.

Manu Ginobili and LaMarcus Aldridge were having none of that.

Ginobili and Aldridge combined to score San Antonio’s final 15 points, with the 40-year-old Manu scoring 10 of them. Ginobili had 16 points off the bench to go along with five assists and a plus-18 plus-minus. Aldridge led the Spurs with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

With the win, Ginobili and Tony Parker became the winningest duo in NBA playoff history.

The Warriors have to be disappointed that they didn’t take care of business in Game 4, though one silver lining is extending this series means more time for Stephen Curry to be ready for the next round. Don’t expect Golden State to let this go any further, so get ready for the Gentleman’s Sweep.
