player. Pick Analysis. EDGE. North Carolina State. Bradley Chubb. 4. 53. Scouting Report

Last year, the Browns took Myles Garrett with the first-overall pick. After dealing with an ankle injury to start the season, Garrett took off and became the player that they envisioned when the card was turned in. Now, Cleveland has an opportunity to get help on the other side, making life miserable for opposing quarterbacks.

Chubb might be the safest player in the draft, making this an easy choice, Some will argue that Saquon Barkley would be the right move here, but he’s a running back. No team should ever take a running back this high, especially in a year where the value is so great throughout the rest of the rounds. Last year, Kareem Hunt led the league in rushing, and the Kansas City Chifs were able to pluck him out of the third round.

With Chubb in the front seven, the Browns are starting to really build a nice front seven. Cleveland would have both Chubb and Garrett coming off the edges, with Christian Kirksey and Jamie Collins on the inside. Few teams can match that type of production, speed and athleticism on the second level of their defense.

The Browns aren’t going to suddenly become a contender in 2018, but this would be a fine start for the future.
