Avengers: Infinity War — Who are the Black Order?

Thanos might be the main villain of Avengers: Infinity War, but his generals, the Black Order, will also play a major role.

Who are Thanos’ mysterious generals known as the Black Order?

We only see a brief glimpse of them in the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, but they seem like they will play a major role in the film.

Every member of the Black Order has a special skill, and their names are Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Black Dwarf and Corvus Glaive.

In the trailer, Loki is captured and surrounded by the Black Order, leading many to believe that Infinity War will be the end of the Asgardian.

Personally, my conspiracy theory is that the Black Order spare Loki and help to defeat Thanos. With so many expecting Loki to potentially die in this scenario, it would be a major plot twist if the whole execution is faked and leads to Thanos’ downfall.

My reasoning behind this stems from a clip (you can watch the clip here) that shows two of the Black Order fighting Captain America and Black Widow, and then it is implied that Team Cap spares their lives.

Honestly, the Black Order cannot be very smart in the first place if they decide to take on Team Cap without the help of some sort of special powers. They might be Thanos’ elite soldiers, but Black Widow and Captain America barely even struggle against them in the clip.

Natasha does get the awesome line “we don’t want to kill you, but we will,” which makes me excited for what the Russos have done to her character after she took a couple steps back with the whole Bruce-Natasha storyline. Pre-Avengers Black Widow would have just killed them without thought, and it shows a lot of positive character development for her to have come so far from the assassin to a superhero.

Expect to see a lot of the Black Order throughout Infinity War, which hits theaters on April 27.
