The Boston Bruins host the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of their first-round series. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

Monday night was one of widespread emotions and very competitive hockey. After an attack in Toronto claimed the lives of 10 people and left many others injured, the Toronto Maple Leafs had one goal: win Game 6 for the city. Strong performances from William Nylander, Mitch Marner, Tomas Plekanec and Frederik Andersen allowed the Leafs to defeat the Boston Bruins by a score of 3-1.

It’s not unreasonable to assume that Game 7 promises to be perhaps the most competitive matchup of 2017-18 thus far. For each team, it’s do-or-die time, as both elimination and advancement are guaranteed.

The Bruins shall look to take advantage of almost 20,000 fans screaming their hearts out. A big night for the likes of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak could be a massive difference-maker, in that Boston’s top line will look to crack Plekanec and the Leafs’ shut-down unit. Expect Tuukka Rask to pull off some major steals, as the Bruins hope to take control of the game. They’ve missed two opportunities to bury this series, but the third time on home ice should be quite the charm…shouldn’t it?

The Leafs shall aim to capitalize on an opportunity for the ages — a chance to slay their dragon and bury the ghost of 2013’s Game 7. Concern lies in the fact that the Buds have seen these circumstances before, but so too do redemptive possibilities. Andersen will have to put forth another all-star performance, while the Leafs’ young core shall look to play a game that is nothing short of clutch. That Toronto has pushed for a seven game series is proof of progress from last year’s playoff run. Nevertheless, they’ll be itching for victory.
