More from DraftKings

CSKA and Real Madrid will try to earn a trip to the Final Four. Can Khimki and Athens force a Game 5?Ā Or willĀ CSKA and Real Madrid join Zalgiris and Fenerbahce in the Final Four?

We have a lot less players to choose from with only four teams in action at a time. The value picks are going to be all the more important.

The cash line in the EuroLeague is usually right around 150 DraftKings points. It’s become higher than that in the playoffs because the stars usually play more minutes. Of course, it’s the EuroLeauge. The rotations often resemble those of the Spurs or the Suns. They can get crazy sometimes.

Guards:

Nick Calathes has put up better numbers in his series than Alexey Shved has in his. If using one of the top two, Calathes is the best bet. However, Shved is capable of putting up bigger numbers than Calathes. Facing elimination in Game 3, Shved went for 42.75 DraftKings points.

Honestly, I’m dropping down to Sergio Rodriguez, who has been a monster in the series. Rodriguez is averaging 40.5 DraftKings points in this series. Those numbers are better than both Calathes and Shved.

Mike James has seen a huge increase in price despite his poor Game 3. With his price up in five figures, you almost have to choose between James and the top three. If that’s where you find yourself in your lineup build, the decision is easy. You fade James. Everyone but Doncic in front of him is capable of dropping 50. I’m not sure James is. Pay a little more and get the upside.

Cory Higgins is a great value play with Nando de Colo being ruled out for the rest of the postseason. Higgins was playing well anyway, but he stepped up for 42.25 DraftKings points in Game 3 with Nando out. Higgins is the new Mike James!

Real Madrid loses Facundo Campazzo for the rest of the season, but they finally get former EuroLeague MVP Sergio Llull back. Llull played a little less than half the game, putting up 15.75 DraftKings points in Game 3. I think Real Madrid will take it easy with Llull for at least one more game. If they have to go to a Game 5, we will see more of Llull. If not, I expect similar numbers to Game 3.

Stefan Markovic has been a more solid value pick than James Anderson so far in this series, and he comes at $200 cheaper. Jaycee Carroll was quiet in Game 1, but has 40.5 DraftKings poitns over the last twoĀ contests. CarrollĀ saw a decrease in playing time with Llull healthy, so there is more of a risk to using him now.Ā Marcus Denmon remains a great value pick at just $3,600. He hasĀ four straight games of more than 11 DraftKings points, so there is some potential here.

DAYTON, OH – MARCH 24: Will Clyburn #21 of the Iowa State Cyclones handles the ball against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the second half during the third round of the 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at UD Arena on March 24, 2013 in Dayton, Ohio. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

Forwards:

Will Clyburn has been huge for CSKA in their series with Khimki. Clyburn hasĀ 79.25 DraftKings points over theĀ three games, which puts him a little over 3x value. That’s pretty rare for the upper tier guys. However, Gustavo Ayon still has higher upside. He is just far less consistent.

Having Tyler Honeycutt back on the court actually made Anthony Gill better. Gill has been huge in Games 2 and 3. Khimki is going to need another strong game from Gill if they are to force a Game 5. Honeycutt is also worth a look as well.

Othello Hunter continued his monster series with another 30+ DraftKings point game. He is averaging 30.4 DraftKings points in this series, and is by far the best frontcourt pick based on price.

James Gist actually was more of a factor than Chris Singleton in Game 3. I’m not sure I trust anyone in the Athens frontcourt right now, but Gist is a whole lot cheaper. If he comes up with a dud, it’s going to hurt a lot less. Of course, he has nowhere near the upside of Singleton.

Veteran Rudy Fernandez mostly goes unnoticed for Real Madrid now, but he has had back to back 18 DraftKings point games in this series. Fernandez is a very good value pick right now. Egor Vialtsev continues to put up solid numbers as well, but his 13-14 range is more likely than the nearly 30 he put up in Game 1.
