2018 NFL Draft tracker and instant grades
51. Chicago Bears: Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
Despite adding Taylor Gabriel and Allen Robinson in the offseason, general manager Ryan Pace brought in another weapon. The Bears have to give Mitchell Trubisky every chance to succeed, and this goes toward that goal.
Grade: B
52. Indianapolis Colts: Kemoto Turay ,EDGE, Rutgers
The Colts have to find a way to get after the quarterback, and while Turay is incredibly raw, the talent is there. Indianapolis has done a nice job of filling out the roster at positions near the lines thus far.
Grade: B-
53. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: M.J. Stewart, CB, North Carolina
Tampa Bay ranked dead last in both pass and overall defense in 2017, so it’s not a shocker that Stewart comes off the board here. The Buccaneers did well to fix the defensive line in the first round with Vita Vea, and now address the secondary.
Grade: B+
54. Cincinnati Bengals: Jessie Bates, S, Wake Forest
Bates fills a need for the Bengals, who have both Shawn Williams and George Iloka, but not much else in the back end of the defense. Bates was projected as a solid second-round choice, is he goes where he belongs.
Grade: A-
55. Carolina Panthers: Donte Jackson, CB, LSU
Jackson fills an obvious need for the panthers, who dealt Daryl Worley away in the endeavor that landed Torrey Smith. Jackson is a bit on the smaller side at 5-foot-11 and 178 pounds, so perhaps he goes inside to the slot.
Grade: B-
