FanDuel MLB Lineup and Picks for Friday, April 27
Second Base, High End Spend
Asdrubal Cabrera, $3,900
.538/.538/.846 with 0 HR in 13 at-bats
We just talked about how Clayton Richard struggles with righties and Cabrera likely has even higher upside than Flores. Cabrera finished third in batting average against lefties in 2017 and although he hasn’t hit them at quite that clip so far in 2018, the talent level is still there. He could easily leave the yard tonight or at least have a big game if the ball stays in the yard. There’s a good case to have three Mets tonight at the SP, C/1B and 2B slots in your cash lineup.
Also Consider – Ozzie Albies, $4,100
Mid-Range
Scooter Gennett, $3,600
.667/.667/1.333 with 0 HR in 3 at-bats
In 2016 and 2017, Twins starter Phil Huges faced 190 left-handed batters. They absolutely crushed him with .412 and .457 wOBA to go along with an average of .375 and .383. Those numbers haven’t been as poor yet but he’s also only faced seven lefties. Gennett has been a little cold to start the season but is starting to wake up a little bit. He and Joey Votto make for a very interesting two-man Reds stack tonight. Gennett has been making hard contact over 40 percent of the time against righties and has a very low HR/FB rate. Positive regression is on the way.
Also Consider – Jason Kipnis, $3,200
Value
Devon Travis, $2,100
.000/.000/.000 with 0 HR in 2 at-bats
There’s always been talent there with Devon Travis and he hasn’t taken a zero in seven straight games. Mike Minor is pitching and he’s been solid against righties but the price is right for Travis if you need a punt. Travis has solid numbers against righties in his career with a .286 batting average and a .333 wOBA. He also hit a home run last night and maybe he could be heating up just a bit.
