The New England Patriots selected Isaiah Wynn with the 23rd-pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Here is all you need to know about Wynn, including our grade.
Strengths
One of the more complete prospects in the NFL draft is offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn. Starting all season at the left tackle for Georgia, he led the way to one of the nation’s best rushing attacks. He also protected his true freshman quarterback’s blind side in a tough SEC.
Wynn is a stout, powerful prospect on the offensive line. Despite being second team All-American at tackle, he will likely kick inside to guard. That is the position he started his college career at and his limited length will push him there at the next level. His positional versatility will certainly be appealing to all NFL teams.
As a guard, Wynn will use his fantastic hand placement and punch to drive blockers off the ball. He is no slouch in the pass game either. At Georgia he showed an excellent ability to handle both speed and power against some of the country’s best pass rushers. Quick out of his stance with the ability to get to the second level will show more at guard than tackle. Finally, his demeanor and attitude will get him on the field early and make him a coach’s favorite in the offensive line room.

Weaknesses
If a team is looking at Wynn as a tackle, his most glaring weakness is his height and length. Measuring only 6-foot-3 is tough to overcome. Pair that with only 33 3/8″ arms and you simply do not have a tackle build in the NFL.
As a guard prospect he is much cleaner. The big test will be if he has the power to push big nose and defensive tackles on Sundays. Teams will need to overlook the fact that he looks long and lean but measurements say otherwise.
Grade
Grade: B
Wynn should fit a need for the Patriots, who have ample holes on the offensive line. Having played guard and tackle at Georgia, it will be intriguing to see where Bill Belichick believes he fits in.
