The wild nature of Talladega Superspeedway is almost assured of popping up again on Sunday in the GEICO 500, and we tell you how to watch all the action live.
It’s fair to say that most Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers have a love/hate relationship with Talladega Superspeedway and the GEICO 500. The hate part comes from the fact that so often, one leaves a victim of “The Big One” with a torn-up race car and a subpar finish.
As for the love, that comes from the history and the fact that restrictor plate races are something of a great equalizer, the events most likely to produce surprise winners and throw monkey wrenches into the season and playoff standings. Just ask Ricky Stenhouse Jr., the defending race winner, how that can turn out.
Stenhouse once again figures to be a live dog on Sunday, starting the race seventh. Pole-sitter Kevin Harvick has a shot to lead the field right away, while Kyle Busch takes his shot at a rare fourth consecutive Cup Series victory from the 19th position, which probably means less at this track than most other places.
Chevrolet will be hoping for another victory too, as the lone win any of its cars have managed so far was when Austin Dillon snagged a Daytona 500 win. Can the bow tie bunch earn another on Sunday and outlast the chaos at Talladega? Here’s the information you need to watch live and find out:
