Miami (FL). Ahmmon Richards. 10. player. 30. . Wide Receiver

The New York Jets traded up in the 2018 NFL Draft to pick No. 3, as they originally held the No. 6 pick. With that third pick, everyone knew they were going to pick a quarterback, and it was just a matter of which would fall to them. When Baker Mayfield was chosen at No. 1 overall to the Browns, it was clear that Sam Darnold would be heading to the Jets at No. 3 overall, and that is exactly what happened.

While Darnold will likely be taken slowly with the Jets, as they have some veteran quarterbacks on the roster, they finally have a guy they can call a franchise quarterback. Whether or not he become a good NFL quarterback is up to him, but he will have a great teacher in Josh McCown this season. With the team’s first round pick in 2019, they should give Darnold a weapon, and Ahmmon Richards is going to be a top pick in this class.

Richards is a fantastic wideout, and is the kind of guy who can go up and make the impossible catch, seem possible. The Jets have a good young wide receiver in Robby Anderson, but he cannot seem to keep himself out of trouble. Using a top pick on the wide receiver position makes a lot of sense, as the team does not want to make the same mistake they did with Mark Sanchez, and not give him the kind of weapons he needs to succeed.
