2019 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select Nick Bosa at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Detroit Lions decided to bolster their offense with their two top picks in 2018, drafting center Frank Ragnow in the first round, and running back Kerryon Johnson in round two. Both of those guys are going to help in big ways this season, as the Lions need a stud back, and their interior offensive line was rough last season. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is an elite arm, so it makes sense they would spend their first round pick on a guy to snap him the ball.
When it comes to the 2019 NFL Draft, Detroit needs to bring in some more help on defense. One area they could stand to get better is the pass rush, and they could go into the SEC to get a good one in Marlon Davidson. Davidson was a big reason why the Tigers came back to life in 2017, and he is going to be in for another big season for Auburn in 2018.
Detroit has a team that is on the brink of the playoffs, and they actually were a Wild Card team back in 2016. If they can add some defensive talent in the 2019 draft class, they could be a team that takes over a tough NFC North very soon. That division is going to be fun to watch, and if things fall Detroit’s way, they could be picking much later than No. 12 during the 2019 NFL Draft.
