2019 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select Nick Bosa at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
With their top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys decided they needed to get better at the inside linebacker position. Selecting Leighton Vander Esch from Boise State was a great move, as he has the talent to be a solid player in the middle of their defense, especially with Sean Lee getting older. In round two, they added a good offensive lineman, selecting Connor Williams from Texas, giving them a solid new addition on both sides of the ball.
The Dallas Cowboys are trying desperately trying to get Jason Witten to stay around for one more year, but he appears to be headed to retirement. With their top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, they should look to add his replacement in Isaac Nauta. Sure, they drafted Dalton Schultz from Stanford in the fourth round this past draft, but Nauta is a guy who could be a touchdown machine for Dak Prescott for the next ten seasons.
Two years ago, the Cowboys were the class of the NFC, putting together the best record in the conference. They failed to make the playoffs in 2017, but they should be in contention to get back to the postseason in 2018. Dallas has the horses to make a run towards the NFC East title, but the Philadelphia Eagles are the best team in the division, and the Wild Card teams may come from outside the East next season based on talent heading into the summer.
