2019 NFL Mock Draft: Browns select Nick Bosa at No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers finally addressed the defensive back situation during the 2018 NFL Draft, but did they go a bit far. The Packers used their first, and second round pick on the cornerback position, bringing in Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson. Jackson was a steal in the second round, and now the Packers have some talent at the position to make them so much better against the pass going forward.
With their top pick in 2019, they may want to once again take care of the defensive side of the ball. With cornerback set, they should look to the interior of their defense, and try to bring in a player like Derrick Brown from Auburn. The Packers used a seventh round pick on a defensive tackle in the 2018 NFL Draft, but Brown would give them the kind of presence in the middle they need in a very tough NFC North.
With Aaron Rodgers back healthy, the Packers are going to make a serious run towards the playoff. This early pick is the one they got from the New Orleans Saints, who traded up in the first round to get Marcus Davenport from UTSA. Green Bay is going to make a deep run in 2018, and with a formidable defensive backfield, they could end up representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.
