First look at Scott Dixon on American Ninja Warrior
Scott Dixon competes in this season of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. Watch your first look at Dixon on the American Ninja Warrior course in Indianapolis.
Scott Dixon is a four-time Verizon IndyCar Series champion, and now he can call himself a Ninja Warrior.
Dixon filmed his appearance on NBC‘s American Ninja Warrior on Sunday as part of the show’s Indianapolis round, and IndyCar released the first video of Dixon tackling the course on Monday.
While you’ll have to wait until June to find out if he advances to the next round, you can play the video above to see the Chip Ganassi Racing legend take his first leaps on the Ninja Warrior course and hear from him about his foray into reality TV.
Be on the lookout for Dixon’s former CGR teammates Charlie Kimball and Tony Kanaan, who were in the crowd to cheer on their fellow driver alongside Dixon’s family and several other friends.
Scott Dixon is the fifth IndyCar driver to try out his ninja skills, following Kanaan, Conor Daly, Helio Castroneves and current series champion Josef Newgarden. If Dixon makes it through his first run, though, he’ll be the first to complete the qualifier.
2018 has so far been a great year for the Verizon IndyCar Series when it comes to TV exposure. At the start of the year, Daly and Alexander Rossi finished fourth in CBS‘s The Amazing Race 30, just narrowly missing out on the show’s finale.
With his American Ninja Warrior run in the books, Scott Dixon will now prepare for the Month of May in Indianapolis. His next race is the IndyCar Grand Prix on May 12, before he’ll try for his next Indianapolis 500 win at the end of the month.
But while you’re waiting for the 2018 IndyCar season to resume, play the video above to watch one of the league’s best drivers test his mettle in an entirely different way. Because considering how successful Scott Dixon is on the track, who’d be that surprised if he was also a ninja?
