Carolina Hurricanes: Mike Commodore

T.J. Miller, uh, I mean Mike Commodore has long been known for the ability to grow a great playoff beard. Commodore has the added luxury of being able to grow a bushy red fro to match the beard, which gives him one of the most unique looks of the group.

After winning the Stanley Cup with the 2006 Carolina Hurricanes, Commodore received the presidential seal of approval on his look when President George Bush told him “I’m not sure what is prettier, the Stanley Cup or Mike Commodore’s hair.” Commodore also starred as a trucker in Paul Brandt’s music video for the song “Convoy.”

Since retirement, Commodore has made the most of his time by taking to Twitter to rip on Toronto Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock (his former coach with the Detroit Red Wings). Commodore holds a very strong grudge against Babcock for not giving him enough playing time in the NHL (and the AHL) and while we can’t repeat anything he’s said about Babcock, feel free to check Commodore’s twitter feed any time Babcock is in the news. He tosses hate toward the generally well-liked coach every chance he gets.
