Toronto Maple Leafs: Darcy Tucker

While the current Toronto Maple Leafs are still a couple years too young to have the ability to grow playoff beards, slightly older longtime fan favorite Darcy Tucker did not have this problem. Tucker played eight seasons with the Leafs, five of which included playoff runs in the early 2000s. During this time, he earned his spot on the list of gnarliest playoff beards.

Tucker collected 476 points and 1,410 penalty minutes over his 947 career games. He was productive, yet as tough and gritty as they come, making him one of the more likable players in that time frame for the Maple Leafs. A true hockey guy.

Tucker’s Maple Leafs teams had a knack for defeating fellow-Ontario team the Ottawa Senators every chance they could. Tucker has a lot of respect for those he played against in the battles of Ontario, going as far as to wish some of the players a happy retirement in his own way:

And this one to Chris Phillips:

Great stuff from Tucker.
