BALTIMORE, MD – APRIL 23: Pedro Alvarez

Number 22: Baltimore Orioles

You would think a team with Manny Machado should rank higher. The only issue is the supporting cast to Machado. Outside of Adam Jones and the power of Chris Davis, the Orioles don’t have much to write home about.

They have a team batting average of .215 and they’re 24th in the league with just 73 runs on the season.

Having a star like Manny Machado, in theory, should make you a competitive team. He’s still just 25 years old and he’s been in the league since 2012. He had a 33 homer season last year and he’s already got eight this year putting him on pace for 56.

Adam Jones is no slouch either. He’s had 20 or more homers for seven years in a row, and even though he’s in a slump to start the year he’s still an exciting player to tune in for.

Dylan Bundy looks to be the best starter in the rotation. In five starts he has a 1.42 ERA despite a win-loss record of 1-2. It certainly doesn’t help that Alex Cobb has an ERA north of 15 in his two starts this year.

Baltimore will likely finish ahead of Tampa in the AL East but they’ll certainly give them a run for their money for the cellar. Baltimore is on pace to win 42 games this year, which is bad news if they’re trying to keep Machado around for the long hall.
