Real Madrid drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday, May 1. Here are all the highlights from the match.

Real Madrid advanced to their third consecutive Champions League final on Tuesday thanks to a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, a result secured largely due to an awful goalkeeping error by Sven Ulreich early in the second half.

Bayern, who needed at least two goals to advance, scored their first in only the third minute, Joshua Kimmich grabbing his second of the tie after Sergio Ramos failed to clear Thomas Muller’s cross from the right wing.

Real responded well, however, and had equalized within 10 minutes. Karim Benzema, returned to the starting lineup with Isco out injured, headed in Marcelo’s cross at the back post after losing his marker, David Alaba.

Bayern were maybe the better side in the first half, playing through the Madrid midfield with surprising ease and creating overloads in wide areas, but Real looked dangerous on the counter-attack and wasted the ball in some good positions.

Bayern should have retaken the lead shortly after the hour mark, only for Robert Lewandowski to hit the ball straight at Keylor Navas after being played through by Mats Hummels, before James Rodriguez missed the rebound.

Real scored within a minute of the restart to swing the tie back in their favor, but the goal was a gift, the result of a bizarre error by Ulreich, who allowed Corentin Tolisso’s slightly lazy but manageable back pass to roll past him, where Benzema tapped into an empty net.

As Bayern flooded forward in search of the two goals they’d need to advance, Real threatened to punish them on the break, but they couldn’t capitalize, and the German side equalized in the 63rd minute through Rodriguez.

The goal galvanized Bayern, who pegged Real back for most of the remainder of the game. The German side couldn’t find a break through, however, with Navas making a couple of impressive saves to help his side through to their third straight final.
