Draymond Green isn’t here for Charles Barkley’s jabs.

Draymond Green has developed a reputation as a brash trash-talker and habitual kicker of the nether regions. It’s for good reason, of course, because Green is always woofing at opponents and committing borderline dirty acts. It’s part of who he is and part of what makes him great, for better or worse.

Green was in fine form in the Golden State Warriors’ 121-116 Game 2 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. He got into it with Anthony Davis. He screamed in Nikola Mirotic’s face for a good five seconds after finishing a basket with a foul. He was yapping after hitting big 3-pointers. It was the full Draymond Green Experience.

Heading into halftime, Green went face-to-face with another big personality in Rajon Rondo. No technical fouls were handed out, but there was plenty of barking in each player’s direction.

This, plus Green’s other antics in this game and in general, drew the ire of TNT analyst Charles Barkley. The Chuckster — who knows a thing or two about brashness — announced that he wanted somebody, whether it was himself, Rondo or whomever, to punch Draymond in the face:

Naturally, Green was told about these remarks after the victory in which he nearly recorded another triple-double with 20 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds. He responded in the most Draymond Green way possible by telling Sir Charles to either put up or shut up:

We all know Chuck won’t actually punch Dray in the face for real, but this has the makings of a wrestling pay-per-view event a la Dennis Rodman vs. Karl Malone back in the 1990s. I would probably shell out a few bucks to see Dray and Chuck going at each other in the ring, especially if they made it for a good cause. Let’s make this happen.
