Welcome into the Wednesday edition of the FanDuel daily fantasy MLB column! Today marks the day of a new format that should help everyone a little more!

Yesterday was a great day with a massive score of 237 points! It was one of the best scores we’ve ever put up and led to a top-25 finish in the quarter arcade! Hopefully your night was as successful as mine.

We have some great news for the article moving forward as we’re rolling out a brand new format! We’ll be going game by game to break everything down so players can pick and choose from a bigger player pool. There will be elite and secondary plays listed at the end of each team and hopefully this opens things up instead of just focusing on a limited player pool like we have been. Let’s get to it!

Early Slate – Royals at Red Sox

Royals Probable Starter – Danny Duffy, LHP

5.40 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 7.96 K/9

Vs LHH – .250 average, .300 wOBA 44.4 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .250 average, .349 wOBA 39.0 hard contact rate

Danny Duffy has not been very good this year and it would seem the Red Sox would be a premier offense to target. Duffy doesn’t carry a high strikeout rate and Boston doesn’t strike out a ton…except against lefties. It’s very weird because one would think that the Sox would destroy lefties. That hasn’t been the case so far this season. Boston Ranks very low in many offensive categories against the handedness. It’s only a matter of time before the offense breaks out against lefties. Duffy is a full fade for me today.

Red Sox Hitters to Target

Elite Options – J.D. Martinez, Mookie Betts(if he plays)

Secondary Options – Hanley Ramirez, Xander Bogaerts

Red Sox Probable Starter – Drew Pomeranz, LHP

7.27 ERA, 1.73 WHIP, 11.42 K/9

Vs LHH – .167 average, .148 wOBA, 60 hard contact rate(just 6 batters)

Vs RHH – .333 average, .469 wOBA, 50 hard contact rate

The Royals entered the series as a very poorly rated team against lefties but whacked Boston starter Eduardo Rodriguez and held their own against Chris Sale. Pomeranz hasn’t found his footing yet after getting a late start to the season due to injury. His strikeout rate has been high but nothing else has been working. The Royals could actually be a sneaky under the radar team to target. If Pomeranz is still struggling, Kansas City have a couple of bats to take advantage in a big way. This game could be pretty high scoring and could be very fun to watch.

Royals Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Whit Merrifield, Jorge Soler, Salvador Perez

Secondary Options – Jon Jay, Cheslor Cuthbert

Home Run Pick –  Jorge Soler
