10. Michael Jordan over Dikembe Mutombo

Dikembe Mutombo finally got a taste of his own medicine when Michael Jordan infamously taunted the lumbering big man with his own signature celebration. There was much more to Jordan giving Mutombo the finger wag than just MJ’s arrogance, Mutombo told him it would never happen.

In the locker room before the all-star game, Jordan and Mutombo were going at it about whether Jordan had dunked on Mutombo yet. “Mike, come on, man. Be for real, you haven’t got me yet,” said an almost annoyed Mutombo. You could see Jordan racking his brain trying to remember a time in which he climbed Mt. Mutombo.

The Hawks’ center was adamant after Jordan admits that he hadn’t got him yet “this year,” Mutombo says, “you haven’t got me in six years — why don’t you just go ahead and say it.” To add fuel to the flames, Mutombo tells Patrick Ewing that it’s never going to happen.

Later that season, Atlanta comes into the United Center and Jordan has the rock in the left corner with Mutombo under the rim. He dumps the ball into Luc Longley and cuts baseline. Longley feeds him with a perfect pass and Jordan elevates and throws down what may have been the most satisfying dunk of his career.

As he backpedals to the other side of the floor, he wags his finger at Mutombo letting him know that no one tells him what he’s never going to do — especially a big man who spends so much time under the rim.
