Giants at Braves

Giants Probable Starter – Ty Blach, LHP

4.10 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 4.82 K/9

Vs LHH – .244 average, .272 wOBA and 25.7 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .286 average, .340 wOBA and 33.0 hard contact rate

It can be a little risky to stack against a ground ball pitcher like Blach. However, Atlanta has completely wrecked lefty pitching so far this season and that was without Ronald Acuna for the majority of it. Acuna makes them even more dangerous and Atlanta might be my favorite offense to stack up tonight. Since Moncada is out for the White Sox, Ozzie Albies is the best second baseman on the board and one of the better plays period. Among players with at least 25 at-bats against lefties in 2018, Albies is first in average and second in OPS. That’s not bad. Any Brave you want is in play tonight.

Braves Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Ozzie Albies, Ronald Acuna, Kurt Suzuki, Nick Markakis, Johan Carmago

Secondary Options – Ender Inciarte, Freddie Freeman(just because of price)

Braves Probable Starter – Brandon McCarthy, RHP

3.09 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 7.03 K/9

Vs LHH – .182 average, .313 wOBA and 17.9 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .309 average, .333 wOBA and 25.4 hard contact rate

McCarthy has seen extreme reverse splits and we should probably be looking at some of the Giants hitters in this game as well. We’re going to need some salary savers across the board if we want the Braves offense and a halfway decent pitcher, so Nick Hundley makes a ton of sense. His hard hit rate and fly ball rate suggest he’s got serious positive regression coming against righties. Alex Hanson is a fine punt option, though far from safe. Andrew McCutchen could be in play, but his price climbed awfully quick. When he’s hot, he tends to stay hot for a pretty lengthy amount of time.
