Meet Justify, Mendelssohn, My Boy Jack and Audible, your Kentucky Derby 2018 oddsmaker favorites.

The Kentucky Derby is one of the most anticipated days of the year for horse racing fans and degenerate gamblers alike. For both, it’s always fun to know who the favorites are for the greatest two minutes in sports, the horses most like to take home a garland of roses, cool million cash purse and a place in history at No. 144.

This year, Justify is the easy favorite. With “Big Money” Mike Smith in the saddle, Justify was also trained by Bob Baffert, who trained the most recent Triple Crown winner, American Pharoah. Justify took the Santa Anita Derby by three lengths over Bolt d’Oro, which is a thing gamblers feel great about.

That said, Mendelssohn, My Boy Jack and Audible deserve your consideration too. Mendelssohn enters Churchill Downs with Patton Stakes and UAE Derby titles to his name; My Boy Jack has a win in nearby Lexington on the resume and Audible is on a hot streak, winning his last two races.

Per Twinspires, the complete list of odds for the 2018 Kentucky Derby is as follows:

"Justify (3-1)My Boy Jack (5-1)Mendelssohn (6-1)Audible (6-1)Bolt d’Oro (8-1)Good Magic (9-1)Magnum Moon (13-1)Vino Rosso (15-1)Lone Sailor (24-1)Hofburg (26-1)Free Drop Billy (43-1)Flameaway (46-1)Promises Fulfilled (48-1)Enticed (55-1)Noble Indy (59-1)Firenze Fire (61-1)Solomini (67-1)Bravazo (68-1)Combatant (77-1)Instilled Regard (99-1)"

So, bet some combination of Justify, Mendelssohn, My Boy Jack and Audible if you’re boring/smart. Get them in the right order and you can win that lucrative superfecta ticket.

All that said, Jody Demling, who is on a nine-Derby hot streak of his own picking winners, is not high on Audible and instead has his eye on Lone Sailor — currently boasting 29-1 odds. So if you like to put the gamble in gambling, throw Lone Sailor on your ticket.
