Who won the run for the roses? Who is taking home a share of the $2 million purse? Here’s the final finishing order for the 2018 Kentucky Derby.

The 2018 Kentucky Derby was here and just two minutes later, it was over. The 1 1/4 mile race, run by three-year-old thoroughbreds in their prime, and had post time of 6:46 p.m. ET. The winner was racing for a $1.24 million share of $2 million purse, the iconic garland of roses and, of course, a place in history as an illustrious Kentucky Derby winner.

Before the race, Justify was the favorite, with 7-2 odds, in the trusty hands of “Big Money” Mike Smith. Smith had placed third the night before in the Kentucky Oaks with Midnight Bisou and had a previous Kentucky Derby win to his name with Giacomo in 2005. However, there were some who had their eyes on Mendelssohn (5-1), My Boy Jack (5-1) or Audible (6-1) for the upset.

Here is the full final finishing order after the 2018 Kentucky Derby.

  1. Justify
  2. Good Magic
  3. Audible
  4. Instilled Regard
  5. My Boy Jack
  6. Bravazo
  7. Hofburg
  8. Lone Sailor
  9. Vino Rosso
  10. Solomini
  11. Firenze Fire
  12. Bolt D’Oro
  13. Flameaway
  14. Enticed
  15. Promises Fulfilled
  16. Free Drop Billy
  17. Noble Indy
  18. Combatant
  19. Magnum Moon
  20. Mendelssohn

With their second, third, fourth and fifth place finishes, the teams of Good Magic, Audible and Instilled Regard will take home $400,000, $200,000, $100,000 and $60,000 cash prizes respectively.

Justify made history, being the first colt since the 1880s to win the Derby after not racing as a two-year-old and is already the subject of Triple Crown hype.

But don’t sleep on the significant of Instilled Regard, who at 85-1 odds turned the superfecta into a $19,000 payday for smart bettors.
