4. Trace McSorley – Penn State

It’s hard not to think of Baker Mayfield a little bit when you watch McSorley play. He isn’t blessed with the best physical gifts in the class, but he’s a winner in every sense of the word.

He put up video game numbers for James Franklin’s offense last season. A 26:8 touchdown to interception ratio is pretty good at any level. It’s particularly good when you’re playing against quality Big 10 defenses on a regular basis.

There are serious question marks about how McSorley’s game might project to the next level though. His measurables are far from ideal for the pro game. McSorley checks in at just six feet tall and 195 pounds. That will cause serious questions about whether or not he can see over NFL offensive lineman. Additionally, his slight frame could make him an injury concern at the next level.

McSorley will get the chance to put his full talents on display for Penn State this season. Saquon Barkley and Mike Gesicki won’t be there to cover up his weaknesses. McSorley will get every opportunity to prove he can be the man at the next level this season for Penn State.
