5. Kansas City Chiefs

It Patrick Mahomes is as good as the Chiefs’ coaching staff seems to think, then the Kansas City offense should be lethal next season. The young quarterback may be surrounded by the most explosive group of skill players in the NFL.

Tyreek Hill gives Mahomes a bona fide superstar at wide receiver. Sammy Watkins’ contract has generated a lot of criticism around the NFL, but no one can dispute his talent. If the light comes on for the former Clemson star this could be the best wide receiver duo in the league.

If that’s not enough, Mahomes is also blessed with Kareem Hunt as his running back. He racked up over 1,100 yards on the ground last season. He’s a home run threat every time he touches the ball.

Finally, the versatile tight end Travis Kelce gives Mahomes yet another weapon to utilize. Andy Reid lines him up all over the field to create nightmare matchups for opposing defenses.

Kansas City’s presence on this list is all about their offense’s ability to score points in bunches. If Mahomes and this group click, they could easily overtake the Patriots to win the AFC. That’s a big ask for a young quarterback, but Reid has done more with lesser talents.
