Mitchell Robinson. 22. player. 24. . C. Chalmette High School

I’m very interested to hear what Robinson says in interviews during the combine and to the media over the next month. He has some explaining to do regarding the circus that was his relationship with Western Kentucky, as well as a pretty huge incentive to show NBA teams how he has improved away from organized basketball the past year. But with their own pick coming in the middle of the lottery, the Bulls can afford to take this risk.

Robinson averaged 25.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 6 blocks in his senior season, according to Flo Hoops. He was a McDonald’s All-American, a five-star prospect as he looked around the country for a college match, and now a first-round prospect. But we still know very little about him, and with smart people like The Ringer’s Jonathan Tjarks constantly bringing up the odd impression he gathered of Robinson during their interview at the Nike Hoops Summit, Robinson has an uphill battle toward teams being really excited to draft him.

“The lifetime goal of mine is to play in the NBA, and I feel like forgoing my year of college and going straight to work on a day to day basis will help prepare me, so I can focus just on basketball and maturing,” Robinson told 24/7 Sports last year.

The Bulls have a long road ahead in their rebuild, and they can take Robinson and pray his hard work has been real since last summer.
