4. Arsene Wenger announces he’s staying on at the end of “final game”

Sunday will be an incredibly sad day for Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman is finally leaving Arsenal after more than 20 years in charge of the London club. Under his guidance there have been incredible highs, including an undefeated Premier League season and several trophy wins.

However, in recent years Arsenal have struggled to mount a serious league challenge and have looked lackluster on the European stage. This has led to them struggling to attract the best players and also to many fans protesting the Frenchman’s stay at the club.

This weekend Wenger takes charge of his last game, at Huddersfield, who could be a bit leggy after their midweek Premier League survival celebrations. Arsenal should have too much for the Terriers anyway but that should make this match even easier for the Gunners.

Huddersfield fans won’t care, though, because they know their team are going to be playing Premier League soccer next season. The longer a lesser club survives in this division, the easier it becomes to grow and become stronger. Burnley are a great example of this.

This points to an easy victory for Arsenal in which they run out winners by at least two or three goals. However, this could cause Wenger to remember the good old days and perhaps regret his decision to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

Arsene will have a last minute change of heart, come onto the Huddersfield pitch at the end of the game and announce to the fans he’s not leaving, a la Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf Of Wall Street.
