Red Sox at Blue Jays

Red Sox Probable Starter – Chris Sale, LHP

2.02 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 11.57 K/9

Vs LHH – .250 average, .274 wOBA and 22.2 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .184 average, .261 wOBA and 26.1 hard contact rate

The second highest pitcher on the slate might well be the one I gravitate towards tonight. Sale is in a fine spot and comes at a $500 discount from the most expensive pitcher on the board tonight. Sale was in this exact matchup just a couple of starts ago and didn’t pitch all that well, scoring just 30 FanDuel points. However, he’s coming off a dominant outing against the Rangers. He’s now pitched seven innings in three of his last four starts which is a great sign. I’m willing to play Sale in almost any matchup even though the Jays have a good strikeout rate against lefty pitching.

Blue Jays Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – Josh Donaldson

Blue Jays Probable Starter – Aaron Sanchez, RHP

4.14 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 6.10 K/9

Vs LHH – .316 average, .407 wOBA and 33.3 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .177 average, .258 wOBA and 27.9 hard contact rate

No pitcher is ever in a good spot when they have to face off against the Red Sox and Sanchez is no different. About the only good thing he has going for him is that there are plenty of righties in the Sox lineup but those righties are also really good hitters. I certainly won’t have any Sanchez tonight and the lefty bats from Boston are particularly interesting. Rafael Devers all the way down to $3,100 really catches the eye.

Red Sox Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Andrew Benintendi, Mitch Moreland, Rafael Devers, Mookie Betts

Secondary Options – J.D. Martinez, Hanley Ramirez

Home Run Pick – Andrew Benintendi

Royals at Indians

Royals Probable Starter – Jason Hammel, RHP

4.78 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 4.98 K/9

Vs LHH – .243 average, .307 wOBA and 49.1 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .276 average, .309 wOBA and 40.4 hard contact rate

I fell like we’ve been saying this a lot, but I’m looking at the Cleveland lefties tonight. Hammel gives up more hard contact and his fly ball rate is over 40 percent to the handedness. The Indians have plenty of lefties to take advantage of the situation tonight and some of them have started to come around after a very slow start this year. There’s a lot to choose from on the high end or cheap options for the Indians offense. The only one I hesitate with a little bit is Francisco Lindor. $4,800 seems pretty pricey even though he’s been hot lately. He hasn’t score under nine FanDuel points since April 28.

Indians Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor, Michael Brantley

Secondary Options – Yonder Alonso, Bradley Zimmer, Jason Kipnis

Indians Probable Stater – Trevor Bauer, RHP

2.53 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 10.49 K/9

Vs LHH – .169 average, .229 wOBA and 34.5 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .185 average, .274 wOBA and 38.6 hard contact rate

One pitcher who is cash viable that would save a significant chunk of change from the top end options is Trevor Bauer. His strikeout rate has climbed to career high levels and it should be noted that the Royals have the lowest strikeout rate against righties. Still, Bauer is coming off a quality start in Yankee Stadium. He’s rattled off six straight quality starts and the Royals are an average offense at best. One of their big bats hits from the left side of the plate in Mike Moustakas. The extra $2,000 certainly comes in handy when building an offense.

Royals Hitters to Target

Secondary Options – Jorge Soler, Mike Moustakas

Home Run Pick – Michael Brantley
