Reds at Dodgers

Reds Probable Starter – Matt Harvey, RHP

7.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 6.67 K/9

Vs LHH – .309 average, .428 wOBA and 45.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .276 average, .339 wOBA and 40.4 hard contact rate

Tonight marks the start of Matt Harvey’s Reds career and the Dodgers are likely chomping at the bit to get this game started. Anyone with a bat would be interesting tonight but my eyes are heading right towards Cody Bellinger. Harvey’s hard contact and fly ball rate to lefty batters are both above 42 percent which means Bellinger is on red alert to leave the yard tonight. I didn’t wind up with him last night but Joc Pederson is very much in play as well. I have no faith Harvey has gotten anything new figured out in a few days with Cincinnati and I’m continuing to treat him as a gas can.

Dodgers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson, Yasmani Grandal

Secondary Optons – Chase Utley, Yasiel Puig

Dodgers Probable Starter – Kenta Maeda, RHP

4.02 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 11.78 K/9

Vs LHH – .269 average, .325 wOBA and 37.2 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .254 average, .332 wOBA and 40.5 hard contact rate

If you happened to read last night, you know I was a little leery about playing Walker Buehler because the Dodgers tend to treat their pitchers with kid gloves. That same treatment is extended to Maeda and I just can’t go with him on a 14 game slate when he’s over $8,400. I’m not going to play a ton of Reds but if I do, it’ll be the lefty bats and that’s likely to be about it. Maeda is a quality pitcher more often than not and this is another game that will mostly be crossed off on one side.

Reds Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Joey Votto

Secondary Options – Jesse Winker, Scooter Gennett, Scott Schebler

Home Run Pick – Cody Bellinger

CINCINNATI, OH – APRIL 14: Tommy Pham #28 of the St. Louis Cardinals bats during a game against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on April 14, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Cardinals defeated the Reds 6-1. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images) *** Local Caption *** Tommy Pham

Cardinals at Padres

Cardinals Probable Starter – Luke Weaver, RHP

5.60 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 8.15 K/9

Vs LHH – .313 average, .347 wOBA and 28.8 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .200 average, .265 wOBA and 29.1 hard contact rate

Weaver started out just fine but his last four starts have been a disaster. His high score in those starts is 22 points and you couldn’t pay me to play him until we see something more out of the youngster for the Cardinals. I’m very interested in the lefties for the Padres because most of them are fairly cheap. Travis Jankowski stands out if you’re paying for the high end pitching.

Padres Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Franchy Cordero, Eric Hosmer, Travis Jankowski

Secondary Options – Christian Villanueva

Padres Probable Starter – Eric Lauer, LHP

5.79 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 9.64 K/9

Vs LHH – .267 average, .253 wOBA and 25.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .333 average, .393 wOBA and 44.4 hard contact rate

Lauer has made three starts so far in his career and only one of them has been worth anything. He’s going to have a tough time against St.Louis tonight and I’m very happy to target a few Red Birds. A very cheap option is Jedd Gyorko in the shortstop slot at just $2,800. He’s got a wOBA of .593 so far this season against lefties in a limited sample size. You can tell Tommy Pham has missed a few games recently because his price is ridiculously low at just $3,700. Even with an ace pitcher, I wan to find the money to pay for Pham.

Cardinals Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Tommy Pham, Jedd Gyorko, Jose Martinez, Paul DeJong

Secondary Options – Marcell Ozuna, Matt Carpenter

Home Run Pick – Franchy Cordero
