Carrie Underwood trolled her husband Mike Fisher as the Nashville Predators center shaved his postseason beard.

The Nashville Predators’ Stanley Cup run is over. It ended earlier than most thought after the Winnipeg Jets beat them 5-1 in Game 7 on Thursday, May 10. That’s what you get for winning the Presidents’ Trophy, Nashville.

One of the saddest parts of losing in the postseason is losing your playoff beard. Carrie Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher had to do it, so the country star trolled him throughout the process.

Underwood and her husband are arguably Nashville’s hottest couple. The former is one of the most popular country singers in the world while Fisher has spent the last eight seasons with the Predators.

To make matters worse, Underwood, arguably the most famous Preds fan, is switching sides. On Twiter, she admitted she will be rooting for a different team. Naturally, it’s the team who will be facing the Jets — the Vegas Golden Knights.

Underwood was quick to point out the Predators are undefeated when she sings the national anthem. Which begs to question, why didn’t she sing the national anthem for all of Nashville’s playoff games? Even if Underwood can’t do it live, she could record it. Not the same as doing it live, but close enough.

This could be the end of Fisher’s NHL career. Then again, he retired last summer and still came back. While the door isn’t completely closed on Fisher returning once again, given the Predators’ forward depth, they might not need him anymore. In 12 playoff games with Nashville this postseason, the veteran center had just one goal while averaging 11:14 of ice-time per game.

Even if Fisher retires, expect the couple to stick around in Tennessee. Both Underwood and her husband are deeply connected to that community. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Fisher get some kind of front office or coaching job with the Predators in the future.
