1. Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants

The Giants are clearly in win-now mode. They drafted Will Hernandez in the second round to add some beef to the left side of the line alongside Nate Solder, and they drafted B.J. Hill and Lorenzo Carter to aid the pass rush.

The biggest pick, though, was the pick of Barkley at No. 2 overall. He gives the Giants another weapon to take some of the pressure off Odell Beckham Jr., and his presence in the run game will also open up the playbook for play action.

Of course, his ability to run for big gains will also play a huge factor this season. He’s explosive and has the vision necessary to be a big-time threat. Barkley has a good combination of being elusive while also strong enough to break tackles.

He has the potential to give the Giants 1,000 yards on the ground and 300-500 yards in the passing game. If he reaches his full potential, and the Giants make a playoff push, there’s no doubt who the Offensive Rookie of the Year will be.
