Braves at Marlins

Braves Probable Starter – Mike Soroka, RHP

4.50 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 7.20 K/9

Vs LHH – .231 average, .230 wOBA and 25.0 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .438 average, .506 wOBA and 35.7 hard contact rate

This is the third straight pitcher that sees a drastic split depending on what type of hitter he’s facing. However, Soroka doesn’t have a huge track record to sink our teeth into so I’m not sure quite how much weight to put into the splits. The Marlins aren’t that great of an offense in total but they do have a bat or two that could be interesting. Starlin Castro and J.T. Realmuto are likely my two favorite plays from Miami but I have a feeling I won’t have much of a piece of this side of the game.

Marlins Hitters to Target

Elite Options – J.T. Realmuto

Secondary Options – Starlin Castro, Martin Prado

Marlins Probable Starter – Jarlin Garcia, LHP

2.68 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 6.32 K/9

Vs LHH – .095 average, .161 wOBA and 23.1 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .176 average, .264 wOBA and 38.9 hard contact rate

A lot of the metrics still look great for Castro due to his hot start but we started to see how Castro might look for the rest of the season his last start against the Cubs. He got blasted for seven runs in just four innings and the challenge doesn’t get easier tonight against the Braves. As is usual when the Braves draw a lefty, they are one of my favorite stacks of the night and are sure to draw some ownership. There’s a lot of good plays for Atlanta, especially if you don’t believe in Garcia.

Secondary Options – Ronald Acuna, Johan Camargo

Home Run Pick – Kurt Suzuki
