Brewers at Rockies

Brewers Probable Starter – Chase Anderson, RHP

3.97 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 5.96 K/9

Vs LHH – .193 average, .281 wOBA and 30.3 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .247 average, .372 wOBA and 32.4 hard contact rate

Anderson has been a reverse splits pitcher so any righty bat for the Rockies is in play. Realistically, any bat in this game is in play because it’s Coors Field. Still, you have to do your best to pick the correct ones and many might look at Anderson and just run for lefty bats from the Rockies tonight. I wouldn’t say they’re a bad play, but the righties get first dibs in my lineup.

Rockies Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Nolan Arenado, DJ LeMahieu, Trevor Story

Secondary Options – Charlie Blackmon, Ian Desmond, Carlos Gonzalez

Rockies Probable Starter – Kyle Freeland, LHP

3.95 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 8.34 K/9

Vs LHH – .132 average, .208 wOBA and 16.7 hard contact rate

VS RHH – .256 average, .320 wOBA and 28.3 hard contact rate

On paper, this would appear to be a spot on righty bats for the Brewers. That actually might not be true as Freeland has pitched better in Coors through his entire career so far. It’s a significant split as well, with a difference of almost two full runs in his ERA so far this season. I’m not advocating to use Freeland in anything but tournaments and I’d rather play a Brewer like Ryan Braun because he’s going to be very popular at just $3,500. At least for cash games, if he takes a zero, so will a lot of other players. The Milwaukee stack does have more risk than some may realize this evening.

Brewers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Ryan Braun, Lorenzo Cain, Domingo Santana

Secondary Options – Jesus Aguilar, Jonathan Villar

Home Run Pick – Ian Desmond
