Updated Stanley Cup Playoff odds heading into Conference Finals
The Winnipeg Jets are headed to the Western Conference finals to face the Vegas Golden Knights after a Game 7 win on Thursday. But how do their odds stack up?
We finally know which four teams will represent their respective conferences in the Third Round of the 2017-18 NHL Playoffs.
The Winnipeg Jets and Vegas Golden Knights, whose series kicks off on Saturday, are both headed to their very first Conference Final after both earning their first postseason wins this year.
In the Eastern Conference, the Washington Capitals jumped out to a 1-0 series lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning with a 4-2 win that was even more dominant than the final score suggests.
One of the best parts of the NHL playoffs is that anything can happen, but that doesn’t mean that certain teams don’t head into each round with a strong advantage than the others. Which team is the favorite to win it all as we enter each Conference Final?
Stanley Cup odds: Conference Finals
Tampa Bay Lightning: 19/10
Winnipeg Jets: 11/5
Vegas Golden Knights: 7/2
Washington Capitals: 4/1
It’s not necessarily a surprise to see the Lightning atop the pack in the latest odds, but after their performance on Friday night against the Capitals, Vegas might be reconsidering. Meanwhile, the Capitals’ odds are largely based on their past performance, rather than the strength of their team. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Alex Ovechkin and Co. keep this going all the way to the end.
The full Stanley Cup Conference Final schedule can be found here. The action continues on Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET as the Winnipeg Jets host the Vegas Golden Knights.
