Manchester City reached 100 points as runaway Premier League champions. The top four all won, and there was no movement in the top half of the final table.

The final matchday of the 2017/2018 Premier League season was relatively uneventful in terms of how it impacted the league table. All of the top four teams won their last matches of the year, and everyone held position in the top half of the table.

Manchester City capped its runaway Premier League title with a 1-0 victory over Southampton. Manchester United took down Watford by the same score. Tottenham Hotspur won a wild 5-4 finale against last year’s champion, Leicester City. And Champions League finalist Liverpool secured a top-four finish with a 4-0 demolition of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Chelsea lost to Newcastle 3-0 in their home finale, but the Blues had no chance of catching Liverpool. The victory allowed the Magpies to remain in the top half of table, just behind the defending champions. It was a fall back from the pinnacle for Leicester City, though the Foxes remained in the top half after a ninth-place finish. In the end, the final matchday did nothing to change the order of the top 10 remained the same from the penultimate weekend.

The two Manchester clubs, Tottenham, and Liverpool are all qualified for next year’s Champions League. Chelsea and Arsenal qualified directly for the Europa League. Burnley secured seventh place and a spot in Europa League qualifying.

In the other direction, only Stoke City won among the bottom seven teams in the table. It wasn’t enough to prevent the Potters from suffering relegation. In addition to Stoke City, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion suffered relegation this season.
