FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Sunday, May 13
White Sox at Cubs
White Sox Probable Starter – Lucas Giolito, RHP
7.25 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 5.25 K/9
Vs LHH – .266 average, .396 wOBA and 31.5 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .247 average, 33.9 wOBA and 27.4 hard contact rate
So I’m pretty sure nobody is going to play Giolito against this Cubs offense and it would be the ultimate troll game if he went out and threw a gem. I could be way off base here, but the Cubs might be a hair underowned against the Red Sox and Astros. They should be able to take Giolito to school and if you don’t go with a cheaper option at third base, Kris Bryant has to be up there as one of the choices. He is super pricey but he’s an on-base machine lately. I’m more likely to side with the cheaper Cubs bats if I can. Anytime a player gets over $5,000, it’s a touch harder to spend up for him.
Cubs Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Willson Contreras, Kyle Schwarber
Secondary Options – Javier Baez, Ben Zobrist
Cubs Probable Starter – Kyle Hendricks, RHP
3.02 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 6.35 K/9
Vs LHH – .203 average, .000 wOBA and 26.0 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .231 average, .000 wOBA and 31.4 hard contact rate
Putting aside his absurd wOBA at the moment, Hendricks isn’t the best option for daily fantasy in tournaments because there is no ceiling to be had. he doesn’t strikeout enough batters to put up a monster score. However, he’s about as “safe” as they come in this matchup for cash games. The White Sox are a decent offense but Hendricks is excellent at limiting hard contact and being good enough to keep an offense off-balance. He should get an easy win with Lucas “Gas Can” Giolito on the mound for the White Sox and should get the quality start bonus to boot. I don’t play hitters against Hendricks unless they’re part of an outstanding offense.
White Sox Hitters to Target
Elite Options – None
Secondary Options – Jose Abreu
Home Run Pick – Bryant, Rizzo and Schwarber all go deep today. Maybe they change the “Bryzzo” nickname for Bryant and Rizzo to “Bryzzo-arber” to get all three names in there.
Sample Lineup
P – Luis Severino
C/1B – Elias Diaz
2B – Sean Rodriguez
3B – Alex Bregman
SS – Carlos Correa
OF – Andrew Benintendi, Josh Reddick, Kyle Schwarber
Utility – Rafael Devers
Taking the chance with two punt options at the C/1B and 2B slots really opened things up for the rest of the lineup. Severino is the horse that anchors everything while Bregman and Correa get us a piece of the Astros. I don’t know if Reddick will face a lefty, but we can figure that out as lineups come out tomorrow. Devers and Benintendi attack the weakness of Biagini for the Blue Jays and Schwarber fits in nicely as well. There’s a lot of high quailty stacking options today and it’s going to be difficult to fit in all the offensive pieces we really want.
Stacks to Consider – Astros(vs Texas), Cubs(vs White Sox), Red Sox(at Toronto), Mariners(at Detroit), Yankees(vs Oakland)
