Celtics Crossover Gaming completes 2 comebacks in NBA 2K League: Highlights and recap

Week 1 of the NBA 2K League regular season wrapped up with 11 teams in action and twice the opponents of Celtics Crossover couldn’t hold onto a fourth-quarter lead.

Week 1 of the NBA 2K League regular season began on Friday, May 11 with three games that were highlighted by a buzzer-beating game-winner. Saturday’s games featured more close contests, including two impressive comeback wins by Celtics Crossover Gaming.

Grizz Gaming started Saturday’s action against Pacers Gaming, and Grizz Gaming was looking to get a bad taste out of its mouth from “The Tipoff,” along with exacting some revenge. In group play Grizz Gaming went 0-4, and Pacers Gaming was one of the teams that they fell short against in that run.

It looked good early for Grizz Gaming just over the halfway point of the first quarter as Winner_Stayz_On was feeling it.

Swizurk tries to keep Pacers Gaming in the game in the third quarter with this drive toward the bucket.

Despite 21 points and 14 rebounds by Swizurk, Grizz Gaming moved to 1-0 in regular-season play with a 64-57 win. AuthenticAfrican led Grizz Gaming with 24 points on 10/15 shooting.

The second game featured Mavs Gaming and Raptors Uprising GC. Late in the first half, Mavs Gaming’s Dayfri scores two of his game-high 28 points with this slam. Dayfri also recorded 11 rebounds to earn the double-double.

JLB punctuated a strong performance by Mavs Gaming by taking flight in the fourth quarter.

All Hail Trey did nearly half of Raptors Uprising GC’s scoring, dropping 21 in the 75-53 loss. Mavs Gaming joined the 1-0 club partially thanks to top overall pick Dimez notching 10 points and 15 assists. Celtics Crossover Gaming and Wizards District Gaming both sought to become the newest members of the 1-0 club in the next contest of the day.

BooPainter led Wizards District Gaming with 30 points, two of which came on this authoritative putdown.

Down seven with just over a minute left, Celtics Crossover made a run late in the fourth quarter led by oFAB’s 18 points and ridiculous 23 assists.

On the strength of ARSONAL x’s 38 points, Celtics Crossover nabbed a 79-78 come-from-behind victory. After a break action resumed with a game between Jazz Gaming and Kings Guard Gaming.

Kings Guard’s worthingcolt ended up contributing 15 points and 14 rebounds to his team’s effort, but it was an early defensive play that put his team in the lead late in the first quarter.

Early in the second quarter, Jazz Gaming’s MrSlaughter01 gets two of his game-high 29 points with this putback jam.

The game stayed tight throughout the second half, with Kings Guard Gaming ultimately claiming a 68-66 win. Jazz Gaming was led on the scoreboard by cowboyxcollazo’s 22 points. Celtics Crossover was one of the teams playing more than one game on Saturday, and Raptors Uprising stood between them and a 2-0 start to the regular season.

ARSONAL x and oFAB picked up right where they left off, putting Celtics Crossover ahead midway through the first quarter.

Yusuf_Scarbz was money all game for Raptors Uprising, like on this shot to keep Celtics Crossover at bay late in the third quarter.

With 31 points and 13 rebounds from Yusuf_Scarbz, Raptors Uprising was able to take a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Celtics Crossover again rallied late to force overtime. Double-doubles by both ARSONAL x and oFAB propelled Celtics Crossover to the 80-68 victory. Both teams then ceded the stage to Heat Check Gaming and Pistons GT.

Pistons GT’s iiNsaniTTy’s ended up with 22 points to lead his team, two of which came on this impressive dunk in the second quarter.

Heat Check was able to take a lead early in the second half, the high tide of which was this play by Hotshot.

Pistons GT’s Lets Get It Ramo compiled 16 points to complement 11 rebounds and overcome Heat Check’s MaJes7ic pouring on 19, taking the game 70-62. The final game of the night gave Jazz Gaming a second chance at a win, which would come at the expense of Cavs Legion GC.

Hood was the story of “The Tipoff” for Cavs Legion, and he followed that up with 19 points to go with 11 rebounds on Saturday.

Jazz Gaming’s smoov tied for the team lead with 18 points, a couple of which were the end result of this move.

Yeah I Compete also dropped 18 points for Jazz Gaming, helping his team earn the 59-51 win and split its two games on Saturday. After Week 1 of the regular season, here’s what the league standings look like:

Regular season play will continue for all 17 teams on Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19. Celtics Crossover would probably prefer to not have to win all their games with comeback efforts, but as long as the end result is a W, that’s all that really matters.
