Monday’s episode has each of the NBC singing competition’s eight remaining artists perform again, with only the three who receive the most votes from TV fans guaranteed to stay on for next week. (The fourth will be determined by social media on Tuesday.) Since that means less airtime, the show is also having the artists team up for duets—but once again, it’s throwing a wrinkle into the simple plan.
The duets won’t just be duets; they’re going to be mashups. And they won’t just be fun performances for the audience to enjoy; they’ll be “competitive” in some way. We have no idea what that means, but surely Carson Daly will explain it and presumably it impacts the voting for the Voice season 14 finals. That’s all the more reason to tune in.
