4. Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s very possible this season could be a make-or-break year for Blake Bortles. The Jaguars must give him every weapon possible to help him succeed. Signing Dez Bryant could give him a very valuable security blanket.

In some ways Bryant’s skills are duplicitous with Marqise Lee. There’s still enough room on the offense for both players. Donte Moncrief is a big question mark at the other wide receiver spot and it’s very likely D.J. Chark is going to take a while to adjust to life in the NFL.

The idea behind the Jags moving for Bryant would be to use him as a jumbo slot receiver. The team likes to use a lot of two-tight end sets to get the most out of their running game. Converting some of those jumbo sets to three wide receiver sets with Bryant in the slot could help diversify the Jaguars offense.

The real question with the Jaguars is whether or not Bortles inaccuracy with the football would make it too hard for Bryant to effectively get open down the field. Signing Bryant would be a risk for the Jaguars, but it’s one worth taking for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
