3. The rookies aren’t enough

I know, I know, the Packers drafted three of them and two very well might have been legitimate Day 2 talents. Most thought Notre Dame’s Equanimeous St. Brown was a top-60 player and I believed J’Mon Moore was worthy of a Day 2 pick.

But since 2011, just four receivers taken 133rd or later started at least half their games as rookies. That includes 98 players, so it’s not some small sample size.

In all likelihood, none of those guys will be up to the task of playing what we just saw is a majority of snaps in this offense. Aaron Rodgers requires meticulous route running and precision reading coverages. If he can’t trust you, he’s not going to throw you the ball.

Ask Jeff Janis.
